2006 - 2 voters go to the polls.  Voter apathy reigns supreme.

2007 - Lewisville ISD elections canceled.  Incumbents unopposed.

2008 - 76 voters go to the polls defeating by just 8 votes a $79M secondary             Lewisville ISD bond package for a special use facility Frisco residents             would have very little use for.

Percentage increase in voter participation over 2006 - 3,700%

2009 - 653 Frisco/LISD voters go to the polls in spite of having to travel to three            different locations to cast ballots. The two LISD Trustee candidates from            Frisco fare well as neither winning incumbent Trustee garners 50% of the            vote. WeAreFrisco support is a significant factor in Pat Fallon’s Frisco City            Council win. Frisco City Councilman, Bob Allen is also endorsed and wins.

Increase in voter participation over the previous year - 860%.

2010 - 1,048 voters go to the polls after Frisco residents are granted a single            polling place at Heritage Lakes as a result of extensive lobbying by            community leaders and elected officials including Frisco City Councilman            Pat Fallon, Denton County Commissioner Hugh Coleman, Texas State            Representative Burt Solomons, US Congressman Michael Burgess, and            State Senator Jane Nelson.

In a counter move, LISD opens an additional 10 early voting locations over            the previous year on the west side of the district, some of which only service            a handful of voters. The strategy wastes taxpayer money and fails            miserably as all three WeAreFrisco endorsed candidates win. The LISD            Trustee candidate from Frisco wins by just 123 votes.

Jeff Cheney wins by a landslide and WeAreFrisco voters help John Keating            to a runoff.  He wins handily a month later.

Increase in voter participation over the previous year - 61%.

2011 - 1,296 voters cast their ballots in an array of elections: LISD Trustee,            Frisco City Council, Frisco Mayor, and the arts hall bond revocation. All            WeAreFrisco endorsees win in the precinct.

Denton County Precinct 131

(SW Frisco comprised primarily of neighborhoods in Lewisville ISD)

2011 Endorsees

WeAreFrisco.org is expanding - citywide. Our organization began with a mission to improve the educational experience for the children in the Frisco’s portion of Lewisville ISD.  We quickly became the largest voter bloc in the city.

Along the way, we were involved successfully in elections at all levels. For example, no one has won a city council seat without our endorsement since our founding and all current sitting councilmen were supported by our organization.

As we expand our mission from one Frisco precinct to all of them, it’s important to remember what we can accomplish when voters stand up.  For us, it has always been about the kids and remains so today.   Be a part of our next success!

From the Campaign Trail

“...I think, seeing the totals, it looks like communicating is an area we need to work on...”                   Vernell Gregg
                  LISD Trustee
                  Flower Mound Leader

2010

"Heritage Lakes as a single polling place for the citizens of Frisco/LISD was an overwhelming success as proven with 1,048 of our neighbors casting ballots. I am fully committed to securing this location for future elections!
