On July 1st, the WeAreFrisco.org Leadership team met to plan our strategy for the next step in the redistricting initiative - submission to the respective school boards of the petition signatures collected.
The newly formed Legal Advisory Committee joined the leadership team for this meeting. The Committee is composed of several resident attorneys including Jeff Crouch, Grant Rodolph and others. It was formed to help guide the petition submission process and provide insight on the legal aspects of the initiative effort as they develop. They are not a litigation team.
It was the consensus of the group that we should move forward at a deliberate pace to ensure all strategies are carefully considered, thoroughly researched, and flawlessly implemented. Then, and only then, will the petitions be submitted.
The leadership team believes we should put as much effort as possible into the continuing effort to collect petition signatures in hopes of avoiding a negative outcome and any resulting protracted court battle.
Massive preparations are underway to help ensure the best possible outcome. Multiple strategies were discussed, and many are already in process. Several more are being researched by the team.
Tell your neighbors it’s not too late to sign the petition and keep gathering the outstanding signatures. The block captains have done an excellent job of helping us as we work toward our goal of obtaining signatures from 80-90% of the impacted voters. We thank them for their outstanding effort!
